The Oak Community Church

Impacting our community with God's love

Midweek Meetings

During the week we normally meet in various homes to build friendships, pray together and discuss the Bible. Everyone is welcome to join us during the week. We see these as a great way of getting to know people better than is always possible on a Sunday and spend some time together growing in all our understanding of the Bible and God’s plan for his Church.

Each week we meet on a Tuesday evening.  The venue for these meetings does vary so it's always best to check out our Calendar and look at the respective event for the location.

Praise handsOur Tuesday meetings alternate between prayer one week and then an interactive Bible study the other week. At our prayer meeting we pray for current needs inside and outside of the church. We start with a short thought from the Bible that sets our direction for prayer.

On the Bible study weeks we normally run a series of sessions across a number of weeks. Previously we have used some DVD resources such as Tim Keller's "The Prodigal God" and John Ortberg's "God is closer than you think". Currently we are studying the life of Gideon in a Bible study written by and led by Pastor Trevor.

Tuesday's start at 8pm and finish by 9:30pm. People are welcome to stick around after for tea, coffee and cake.  It’s a great environment to get to know people better and get a good mid-week spiritual lift.

After Easter we are looking to start a day time Alpha Course probably on a Monday. This is a great opportunity to refresh the fundamentals of the Christian faith or discover them for the first time. You can see an advert for The Alpha Course in this YouTube clip...
